Having endured countless cycles of loss, the ageless being Fushi retreats to a remote island, fending off the relentless Nokker attacks that seek to draw him out. When the Nokkers shift their focus to nearby settlements, a fledgling faction called the Guardians—guided by Hisame, a descendant of a fallen hero—discovers Fushi and invites him to join their cause.

Drawn to the Guardians' growing reputation, Fushi travels with them to a village scarred by recent Nokker raids, reuniting with old companions and meeting new allies. As the relentless conflict deepens, he must summon the resolve to confront the looming sorrow that shadows his immortal journey.
