The Place Promised in Our Early Days

In a post‑war Japan split between a Soviet‑styled Union in Hokkaido and American‑controlled Honshu, a colossal, enigmatic tower looms over the Tsugaru Strait, visible from the northern coast. Three childhood friends—Hiroki, Takuya, and Sayuri—make a pact in 1996 to build a plane and uncover the tower’s secrets, a dream shattered when Sayuri falls ill and is whisked away to Tokyo for treatment.

Three years later, Hiroki discovers that Sayuri has been comatose all this time, and he convinces Takuya to help him find a way to awaken her. Their quest soon reveals that her mysterious slumber is intertwined with the tower’s hidden purpose and the fragile balance of their divided nation.
