After graduation, Koyomi and Hitagi leave Naoetsu High, leaving only a handful of familiar faces behind. Among them is Suruga Kanbaru, still clutching the cursed Monkey's Paw. When rumors spread about a mysterious "Devil" who can magically solve any problem, Kanbaru assumes the gossip targets her and sets out to expose the truth. Her investigation leads to Rouka Numachi, a former basketball rival now confined to a wheelchair, who offers free, misleading advice to desperate students, feeding on their misfortune for amusement. While Kanbaru initially dismisses the harmless deception, she confronts Rouka and returns home, believing the danger has passed. The next morning, however, she discovers her cursed hand has returned, hinting that the supernatural meddling may not be over.
