Ayaka Sajou, heir to a prestigious line of mages, has been haunted by the loss of her father and sister in a previous Holy Grail conflict. Reluctant to repeat their tragic fate, she tries to stay away from the deadly contest that claims the lives of those she loves.

When a rogue knight threatens her, Ayaka is forced to summon a powerful Servant known as Saber, thrusting her back into the very war she sought to escape.
