Three ordinary kids—Takato, Ruki, and Lee—suddenly discover that the digital monsters they once only imagined are real and can partner with them. Each child brings a unique philosophy to their bond with these creatures, ranging from cautious stewardship to daring camaraderie, setting the stage for a clash of ideals as the digital world begins spilling into modern Japan.

When mysterious Digimon start appearing across the country, the trio must set aside their disagreements and join forces to protect their world.
